Creation is calling. In this time of great challenge we are being summoned to a renewal of our connection and interdependence with all of creation. In our hemisphere we have been gifted with four distinct seasons. Each has its purpose in our material and unmaterial lives, in our very psyches.
In particular, winter is an opportunity to deepen, to honor the call to greater soulfulness. To enter into the depths of silence, stillness and soul. To nourish the seeds, roots and bulbs of creativity and new growth that will emerge with the coming of spring.
Our ancient ancestors intrinsically understood this and in harmony with their home ground created ceremonies and seasonal activities. They understood we humans are in partnership with creation, that we have our part to play. A critically important part.
Together we will explore some of these ceremonies, discovering and energetically touching into what was being enacted at Newgrange in Ireland, at Stonehenge in England, at Chaco Canyon in New Mexico and at Bethlehem in Judea. Then we will create and enact our ritual for our time employing sound, silence, darkness, light and movement. We will walk the labyrinth of being and emerge carrying the light.
In the long dark nights, in the womb of creation, in the womb of each of us, the life sustaining warmth and light of the material and unmaterial sun calls for nurturing, calls to be tended. Then the sun, the earth, and humanity can once again shine forth. Please bring your drums, rattles, singing bowls and sacred instruments. Plenty of instruments are also available at The Christine Center.
In the depths of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer. Albert Camus
